Albany Records - Albany Records (UK) was established in 1988 and has concentrated on recording the music of British composer George Lloyd. Music includes symphonies, opera, concertos, choral works, chamber music and music for brass. In addition, their British Music series includes previously unrecorded works by Bantock, Berners, Holst, Parry, Ireland, Lambert, Walton, and many others. Albany Records (US) has specialised in the work of 20th Century Americans, - Copland, Harris, Barber, Piston, Gould, Ives, Ward, Creston, Antheil, Gottschalk, Virgil Thomson, Randall Thompson, Schuman, Chadwick, Converse, Adams, Sessions, Rorem, Bazelon, and many others, in a range of styles from conservative to avant garde.

Catalyst (Note: No Web Site) - Launched with the mission of offering a variety of contemporary music by today's most innovative composers and artists. Catalyst releases have featured established contemporary composers such as John Corigliano and Philip Glass.

Cristofori Records - Computer enhanced classical piano music. Their debut recording is titled "A Piano Recital", and is a good example of how exciting piano playing can be when there are no technical limitations.

DHM / deutsche harmonia mundi - Founded in 1958 by Rudolf Ruby. He established a world-wide reputation for the label with ensembles synonymous with the establishment of historically informed performance practice such as La Petite Bande, Collegium Aureum and artists like the Kuijken brothers, Gustav Leonhardt and René Jacobs. Now part of the BMG label.

Decca (London) Records - Goes back to 1832 in London selling musical instruments and then began to sell records in 1903. Current artists include The Three Tenors in Paris, Cecilia Bartoli, Renee Fleming, Sir George Solti and Luciano Pavarotti.

ECM - Bridges the centuries, from early music to contemporary works (Including Jazz) by Pärt, Kancheli, Kurtag, Tüür and Schnittke, while on Officium, Jan Garbarek and the Hilliard Ensemble merge past and present in a unique collaboration. Part of the BMG family.

EMI Classics - Originally the Gramophone Company in London starting out with Enrico Caruso, merging with Columbia Gramophone in 1931 to form EMI and acquiring Capitol Records in 1955. Classical artists have included von Karajan, Oistrakh, Rostropovich and Richter.

E.S. Records - Dedicated to Russian born classical composer and his new release - "Romeo and Juliet" - complex, romantic, symphonic tragedy on 2 CDs for the orchestra, choir, synthesizers and soloists.

GM Recordings - A forum for presenting classical artists who constantly test the imagined limitations of their instruments and art.   Specializes in contemporary, American works.

Gimell - The UK label for early music, part of the Philips Music Group. Details of Gimell recordings and forthcoming appearances by the Tallis Scholars.

Guild Music - Specialises in recording the Great British Cathedral Choirs and exclusive chamber music. The Guild label has built an enviable reputation over the years for its many church and organ music recordings. It has now extended its repertoire to include symphonic, chamber music and solo piano CD’s of the highest quality.

HNH International - Includes two labels - the Naxos label was orginally a budget classical line out of Asia and is now a full-fledged classical label. Also includes the Marco Polo label which has brought listeners many unknown compositions by the great Russian nationalist composers - Rimsky-Korsakov, Borodin, Mussorgsky and Balakirev.

Harmonia Mundi - Artists include The  Academy of Ancient Music, Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, Anonymous 4 and Paul  Hillier.

Hyperion Records - An independent British classical label devoted to presenting high-quality recordings of music of all styles and from all periods from the twelfth century to the twentieth. Ranges over the entire spectrum of music from sacred and secular, choral and solo vocal, orchestral, chamber and instrumental.

Klassik Akzente - Das deutschsprachige Klassikmagazin monatlich aktualisiert.

 Koss Classics - From the same people who bring you those wonderful stereo speakers come audiophile compact disc recordings devoted to less recorded orchestral and chamber music by American symphony orchestras.

MDC Music - The United Kingdom's largest independent retailer of classical music. We included their web site on this page of music labels since they carry many of the Classical Music labels that do not have their own web site. We feel that MDC is an excellent source for locating classical music albums on the web that are not available in your local store. Especially handy if you are located in the UK or in Europe.

Melodiya - Now owned by BMG, the Soviet record company 'Melodiya' was not established until 1964 but the roots go back to the years just after the revolution in 1917. During the years an extensive archive with recordings of famous Soviet artists like Sofronitsky, Oistrakh, Richter, Rostropovich, Gilels, Mravinsky and Kondrashin has been built up.

Wolfmusic Publications, Ltd.
A new classical music publisher specializing in unpublished piano music of influential composers. They are currently presenting Clementi, "The Rediscovered Piano Sonatas," Volume I. Clementi, the father of the pianoforte, composed over 100 piano sonatas, less than half of which are currently available.  This volume is the first in a series devoted to the publication of these remaining sonatas.
